Sarah Waldron

Gango Editions, Inc. Artist

Sarah Waldron is inspired by a range of mediums and styles from master impressionists to Greek icons. Exposure to a broad visual palette during her travels in Europe has had a profound impact on her art. Sarah believes that experimentation is crucial to growth as an artist; but color, texture, spatial balance and the negative/positive space relationship remain primary concerns for her. She uses color to develop graphic patterns and accent parts of the subject matter.

More recently Sarah has been using collage under her painting to add texture and a certain amount of mystery to her work. She often uses oil paints in thin, transparent layers to build a luminous layered quality to the colors in her pieces.

Sarah lives on the Mendocino Coast of California. The colors of nature influence her work. "I have a wonderful studio with a view of the ocean" she says, "and when I am not painting I am hiking with my geologist husband and the dog in the redwoods."
