Selina Werbelow

Gango Editions, Inc. Artist

Selina Werbelow grew up in Gillette, a small mining town in Wyoming. Her father, a ceramic artist and painter, interested her in making things from an early age. Selina thinks that being in such a quiet and still place really helped her focus on learning how to draw and paint.

She studied at Arizona State University, and received concurrent degrees in painting and drawing. She also studied drawing and art history one summer in Florence, Italy and that experience inspired her to paint and draw more landscapes.

Selina now lives in Tempe, AZ. Her focus is strictly on painting and loves to create a variety of subjects. She is very inspired by flowers and how sculptural, and yet delicate they can be. She also loves painting landscapes and mixing abstract elements to make them more exciting. The process an artist goes through to make a painting is of particular interest to her. With her own work, she likes to make a mess with the paint and then figure out how to turn it into something beautiful.
